TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT: City tour of Rome. Night transfer to Trastevere area.

We will enjoy a panoramic tour to give you an introduction to the Eternal City, finishing at St Peter’s in the Vatican, where you will be able to visit the Basilica and museums. In the evening, we transfer to the Trastévere, the busy city district well known for its typical restaurants. Return to hotel.

Day 4 - Rome -Florence

We travel to the capital of Tuscany - FLORENCE, upon arrival we will make a stop to take a photo at the Michelangelo viewpoint, where we can have one of the most beautiful views over the city. After that we include a sightseeing tour with a local guide of the capital of Tuscany, one of the most visited cities in the country, considered the cradle of the Renaissance and few of the most influential artists and thinkers in history, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli or Raphael. Highlights include the Gothic cathedral (duomo), the ancient Stone Bridge (Ponte Vecchio) with its goldsmiths´ shops and the Signoria square - the political heart of the city with the town hall in a medieval building.

Day 5 - Florencia-Bastia-Corte-Ajaccio

Saldremos muy temprano de Florencia. Viajamos a Livorno en donde embarcamos en moderno ferry (salida a las 08.00 hrs) hacia la isla de Córcega. Disfrutara del mar durante esta travesía de algo más de cuatro horas de duración. BASTIA, llegada, muy pintoresca ciudad, destaca su viejo puerto rodeado de terrazas de restaurantes y el elevado barrio de “terra nova” rodeado con sus impresionantes murallas. Tiempo para pasear y almorzar. Tras la hora del almuerzo viajamos por el interior de Córcega, sus paisajes de altas montañas son impresionantes. Paramos en CORTE muy hermoso pueblo lleno de vida dominado por su ciudadela, incluimos un paseíto en el tren turístico. Continuación entre altas montañas hacia AJACCIO, llegada al final de la tarde. Nota: La salida de Florencia se realizará a las seis de la madrugada, este día no se incluye el desayuno.

Day 6 - Ajaccio-Propriano-Bonifacio-Olbia

Tiempo libre en la capital de Córcega, podrá pasear por su casco antiguo donde se encuentra la casa en la que nació Napoleón y por sus elegantes avenidas junto al puerto. Tras ello seguimos nuestra ruta entre paisajes de gran belleza, parada y tiempo para almorzar en PROPIANO, pintoresca ciudad junto al mar. BONIFACIO, llegada a esta ciudad entre acantilados, tendrá tiempo para pasear por “La Marina” con sus grandes yates o subirá a la “ciudad alta” con sus callejones llenos de encanto y sus murallas. Embarcamos en ferry, una travesía de 50 minutos nos separa de Cerdeña. Llegada a Santa Teresa Gallura y continuación de ruta hacia OLBIA.- Llegada al final de la tarde.

Hoy conoceremos la “Costa Esmeralda” una de las zonas mas hermosas del Mediterráneo con su turismo de muy alto nivel. Saldremos de Olbia hacia PORTO CERVO, corazón de la costa esmeralda construido alrededor de dos puertos deportivos. PALAU, pequeña ciudad llena de vida con activo puerto. Aquí embarcamos en corta travesía (unos 20 minutos) hacia LA MADDALENA, pintoresco pueblo, el principal del archipiélago que lleva su nombre; tiempo para un paseo en magníficos paisajes. En verano podremos disfrutar de una de sus playas. Regresamos en barco a Palau y seguimos a SASSARI , llegada y Cena incluida.-

Un tiempo en Sassari, el segundo centro político, comercial y cultural de Cerdeña; podrá conocer los callejones del centro y su gran catedral barroca. Tras ello viajamos a ALGHERO encantadora pequeña ciudad junto al mar, sus habitantes hablan el Catalán (además del Italiano) y su casco antiguo se encuentra casi intacto rodeado por sus fuertes murallas.- Tiempo para pasear y almorzar. Viajamos hacia el sur de la isla, espectaculares paisajes siguiendo la costa. Una breve parada en BOSA, característico pueblo Sardo. CAGLIARI, llegada al final del día. Cena incluida.

An early start in Rome, to travel to the south of Italy. We pass through NAPLES where we embark (boat ticket included) for the ISLAND OF CAPRI; if you wish, you can take a launch to the White Grotto or take a trip on the cable car to Capri capital. After lunch, we will board once more and continue to SORRENTO, a town full of charm and tourist life at the foot of the cliff. Time to stroll. We continue to the Gulf of Salerno. Accommodation in SALERNO.

We travel to the south of ¨the boot¨. Attractive southern Italian scenery as we cross the Cilento National Park. We arrive in PAOLA, on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea, we visit the sanctuary of St Francis of Paola and we have free time for lunch in its pretty historic centre. We go on our way to VILLA SAN GIOVANNI where we take a short ferry crossing to the island of SICILY. Arrival in MESSINA where we will have time for a stroll and to visit the cathedral before continuing to TAORMINA. Dinner included. NB: Accommodation in the “region of Taormina”, the accommodation may sometimes be in Messina.

We travel to SYRACUSE, a city which for a time rivalled Athens and Rome for its power and splendour. Time to visit its magnificent historic centre. After lunch we go on to NOTO, a small city that seems to have stopped in time, the Baroque jewel of Sicily. We carry on towards AGRIGENTO. In the coach we see the magnificent temple complex. Dinner included.

With a local guide we visit the Valley of the Temples, an impressive archaeological site considered the most complete complex of Greek temples (ticket not included). We travel to MARSALA, a historic city with a lot of atmosphere and a famous wine, and time for lunch. We go on around the Marsala salt marshes to ERICE, a very picturesque Phoenician town overlooking the sea. Time to stroll. We carry on to PALERMO. Dinner included.

After breakfast, tour of PALERMO. The Sicilian capital is a city full of contrasts. Stories of Arabs, Normans, the splendour of the Baroque period. We include a transfer to the beautiful village (now an outlying district of Palermo) of MONREALE. The city particularly stands out for the Palace of the Normans with its Palatine Chapel and Cathedral. At the end of the afternoon we board a modern night ferry. Accommodation in double cabins with bathroom.

Day 17 - Naples -Pompeii -Cassino -Rome

Arrival in NAPLES first thing in the morning (breakfast not included). After disembarking, time for breakfast. We continue to POMPEII to see the remains of this Roman city that was covered by the ash of Vesuvius with a local guide (tickets not included). After lunch, continuation to CASSINO to see the immense Abbey; time too in the Polish Cemetery that reminds us that one of the toughest battles of the Second World War took place here. Continuation to ROME. Arrival in Rome at the end of the afternoon.
