Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome! Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel. On the information posters you will find the information you need to meet your guide at the hotel. In the evening we will include a transfer to the Esquiline area. This neighborhood will be a good entrance to Rome, amidst the great basilicas and the Colosseum.

Day 2 - Rome
In the morning we will have a city tour that will become an introduction to “The Eternal City”. We include entry to the Imperial Forums, an impressive architectural complex made up of monumental buildings and squares, the center of political activity at the time. Later we will go to St. Peter´s Basilica of the Vatican, you will have free time to attend mass in the Vatican, if you wish. Free time in afternoon.

Day 4 - Rome -Termoli -Monte SantAngelo -Trani -Bari
Today we travel towards the Adriatic Sea, the landscapes of the Apennine Mountain range are magnificent. TERMOLI, a charming city by the sea whose beach is dominated by the walled old town and where its 13th century castle and Romanesque cathedral stand out. Time for lunch and a walk. We continue towards MONTE SANT´ANGELO, a world heritage site and a place of pilgrimage throughout history, its Romanesque sanctuary located in a cave guarding tombs since the 6th century. Have a walk through the medieval center of the town. We continue to TRANI, “the pearl of the Adriatic”, a magnificent city that embraces the sea and displays its pink Romanesque cathedral. Continuation to BARI, accommodation.

Day 5 - Bari -Brindisi -Igoumenitsa
After breakfast we have time to walk through the old town of BARI, a port city inhabited since before Roman times. Its narrow streets, its churches, its lively life make it a very special city. Later we continue to BRINDISI, where we take a modern ferry (scheduled departure at 13:00 hrs.) with which we cross the Ionian Sea. Arrival in IGOUMENITSA, in Greece, after the 8-hour crossing. Accommodation.
Note: During the ferry journey you will have to carry your luggage with you. If the group of passengers is not large, during the journey they will travel without an accompanying Europamundo guide. A new guide will be waiting for you upon arrival.

Day 6 - Igoumenitsa-Metsovo-Meteoras-Kalambaka
Tras el desayuno viajamos entre altas montañas por el Epiro hacia METSOVO, pintoresco y turístico pueblo balcánico entre montañas. Esta zona, aislada por las montañas del resto de Grecia, conserva su cultura diferenciada muy influenciada por la eslava y la turca. Tiempo para pasear por sus calles con su arquitectura tradicional de casas de piedra, techos de tejas rojas y balcones de madera tallada. Continuamos hacia la región de Tesalia. Paramos en KASTRAKI, pintoresco pueblo con hermosas vistas sobre el valle de las Meteoras. Tiempo para almorzar. Conocemos las METEORAS, impresionante lugar declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad. La palabra "Metéora" proviene del griego y significa "suspendido en el aire" o "en el cielo”. Impresiona la presencia de monasterios en la cima de algunas de inmensas formaciones rocosas. Durante siglos, los monjes y ermitaños buscaron la tranquilidad y la soledad en estos lugares aislados. Conoceremos todo el valle e incluimos la entrada a uno de los más famosos monasterios. Day 7 - Kalambaka - Delphi - Osios Loukas - Athens
We will travel south through the Thessaly region. We will arrive in DELPHI after enjoying the view of wonderful landscapes. We include admission to the beautiful archaeological complex that overlooks the Gulf of Corinth with incredible landscapes, time for lunch. After that we travel to the OSIOS LOUKAS MONASTERY, one of the most beautiful Byzantine monasteries in Greece, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its magnificent 11th century mosaics are incredible. We continue towards ATHENS. Arrival in the evening.

Day 8 - Athens
We will enjoy the city tour with a local guide which includes the Presidential Palace, the Panathinaikos stadium where the first modern Olympic games were held, the national library, the bustling squares of the center; the new neighborhoods that emerged after the 2004 Olympic games. The tour will finish at the Acropolis site (entry not included). In the evening we include a transfer to the PLAKA area, which is full of small Greek bars and where you will be able to enjoy the rich folklore of this country.

Day 10 - Athens -Aegyna -Poros -Epidaurus -Nafplio
Our journey is very special today. Greece has almost 6.000 islands, of which more than 100 are inhabited. Several ships connect the islands with the continent. We will depart from the hotel early in the morning to get the ferry that will take us to AEGYNA. The way takes a bit less than an hour. This island has been inhabited for more than 4.000 years. You will be able to walk around the picturesque harbor, the typical quarters of little houses and old churches, or go to the Greek temple of Apollo. We then will come back to take the ferry again and, after a 1:15 h journey, we will get to POROS island. You will have free time in this charming place, full of tourist life; its old houses climb up to the clock tower. Free time for walking around and lunch. After lunch, we will make a 15-minutes journey to Galatas, a small harbor in the Peloponnese. We then continue by road, across beautiful landscapes of hills, to EPIDAURUS. The admission is included, and there will be free time to visit its old theater which was built 2.400 years ago and has been excellently preserved. It still holds performances nowadays and has capacity for 14.000 people. We then continue to NAUPLIA, which is a charming coastal city dominated by the citadel and the Venetian fortress. Free time to walk around. Dinner included.

Day 11 - Nafplio -Tripoli -Olympia -Patras
We will travel across the mountains of the Peloponnese hinterland to TRIPOLI. Stop in the lively capital of the Arcadia region. There will be free time to walk around the Areos Square, with its cafes and restaurants. We will resume our way to OLYMPIA, where we will visit the archeologic site (admission and visit with a local guide included). This is the place where the first Olympic Games were held in the year 776 BC. Athletes from all over Greece and its colonies participated. The Temple of Zeus, the stadium, the gymnasium, and the arena are outstanding landmarks. We then continue to PATRAS, the third city of Greece in terms of population. It is a port city with an active life, a medieval fortress which overlooks the city, and the biggest cathedral in Greece. Both the cathedral and the small Saint Andrew’s church are pilgrimage destinations. Dinner included.

Day 12 - Patras -Igoumenitsa - Brindisi
After breakfast, we will cross over the Rio-Antirrio bridge, an impressive cable-stayed bridge which connects the Peloponnese with the Greek continent. We travel across the Central Greece regions and the Epyrus. IGOUMENITSA, arrival at this coastal city; free time for a walk before taking the modern ferry (expected departure time at 14:00h) on which we will cross the Ionian Sea towards Italy. Arrival at BRINDISI by the end of the day (arrival time expected at 21:00h). Lodging.

Day 13 - Brindisi -Alberobello -Matera -Naples
Today we will visit two spectacular and authentic towns. ALBEROBELLO, charming town famous for its unique conical-shaped houses known as "trulli". These unique structures, with their stacked stone roofs, are a World Heritage Site and are considered an outstanding example of Italian rural architecture. After that we continue to MATERA, located in the Basilicata region, known for its ancient historic center with its "Sassi di Matera", a complex of ancient houses and buildings carved into the rock that date back thousands of years. It is a World Heritage Site and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited human settlements in the world. Time for a walk and lunch. In the afternoon we continue through Basilicata and Campania, admiring their beautiful mountain landscapes. NAPLES, arrival in the evening. Free time afterwards.

Day 14 - Naples -Capri -Pompeii -Rome
We take a ferry to CAPRI, after a 45-minute crossing we arrive at this island famous for its natural beauty and luxurious lifestyle. If you’d like to, you can take a boat to the White Grotto or the cable car to the Capri city and visit the gardens of Augustus with panoramic views. We return to NAPLES, where you will have time for a walk and lunch. In the afternoon we will visit POMPEII (admission and visit with a local guide included), the prosperous city reduced to ashes and rubble when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. We will continue to ROME, arrival at the end of the day.
