Sunshine-10 Food-10 Staff -Some are really nice. Drinks - named spirits beers have to be paid for. Otherwise very strong Gardens and grounds are lovely but rooms and restocking of rooms could be better. Corridors are a little noisy Entertainment is what you would expect it to be quite varied , brilliant circus act, enthusiastic Staff. If you appreciate a nice coffee it may be an idea to bring your own. A party of 70 people departed yesterday and I have to admit it’s more like the holiday I had paid for in the first place. ( shame That was wasn’t the case two weeks ago) Note to hotel. Try not to run at full capacity , it’s not fair on the staff. And you don’t have enough space. These are only my opinions, and I understand everyone is different and likes different things. This is only my opinion.

Excellent service and food from the Grand Bahia Principe Esmeralda. We really enjoyed our 4 night stay and the beach was really nice and clean. Buffets had a lot of choice and was fresh all the time. A la carte restaurants we also very good for an all inclusive. I highly recommend this resort !

This has to be one of the worst resort in Punta Cana. Overall experience was not great at all but I had to try to make the best of it. During our stay the staff was very unfriendly and only cared about making money. I was there with a lot of other women and we experienced a long extensive delay in check in resulting in us missing time spent on the beach and resort. The lack of communication is horrible there is no order at the front desk or management when it comes to handling concerns it like they act as if they don’t know what’s going on. The rooms are old and dark there is not light in the room that’s is bright it’s because they try to hide the imperfections of the room. Room service took hours to deliver in my case they didn’t come at all to deliver to my room after ordered. The food was not great at all the quality was low grade. When we made reservations to eat it took them almost a hour and thirty minutes to bring us food and on arrival it was cold and not good. I would never stay or recommend anyone to stay here. It was overall a bad experience and I don’t want anyone experience the disrespect or poor quality service that they provide. This facility shows you that they are only interested in taking your money and not providing a great overall experience.

Best visited place to date and I hope to repeat this visit. A level of Security is indiscreetly present which makes one feel safe. People in the resort are amazingly hard working and very accommodating going out of their normal way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. There are many restaurants on site and we discovered that the high quality of the food in the buffet was of equal to that of the resort restaurants. The wines served were excellent and with plentiful servings. Beaches and pools are clean and beautiful. Landscaping is well maintained. Rooms are very spacious and very clean. While I'm still in the resort at this time of Thursday February 10, 2022, further details with pictures will follow.

The hotel grounds grounds and rooms are clean and well taken care of, the staff is pleasant and they aim to please, restaurant and buffet tables are disinfected often and food selection is great. Covid testing was handle quickly and efficiently. If you're booking a stay for less than a week, we recommend booking your stay during weekdays as the hotel seems to be short-staffed and are struggling to handle large crowds at buffets and restaurants.

Stayed here with the family from august 14-21. Overall we had a good time. I must say first of all the young kids had a very good time at the water play area and they were there are a lot. The grounds and pools were very nice and well maintained. I must also thank Rafael in building 93 for going above and beyond to help us out with changing rooms. During the middle of the trip a family with a baby was put in the room next to us and the baby was crying the entire night and Rafael helped us the next day switch rooms. Much appreciated. There were a few minor issues which is the reason I’m giving the resort 4 stars and not 5. First, the beds, in my opinion, are not too comfortable and the pillows are very small. Most people are used to standard queen sized pillows. These were smaller. Second, I must say the buffet food and the a la cart restaurants had very good food for the most part; however, I did get a stomach bug the day after we ate at the Japanese restaurant for dinner. I believe it was bacterial not viral because I had no fever or nausea just diarrhea that lasted a few days. I believe it either came from one of the sushi dishes at the Japanese restaurant or the raw smoked salmon I had at the buffet breakfast the next morning. Wherever I did get it from, it affected my time there. I would not recommend anyone to have anything rare or raw. If you get sick like I did it’ll ruin your time. All in all however, I would recommend staying here just avoid food that’s not fully cooked and be aware of the beds not being the most comfortable, especially if you sleep on your stomach like I do.

Great experience at this all inclusive hotel and resort. Food was great. Kids lived the water park. The ocean was beautiful. Will definitely come back.

This is my third stay at this hotel and this by far is the worst experience I've had. During our 5days stay we had to change room four times. On arrival day we changed room first because of cleanliness, then the power went out in the second room. On the third night our room got flooded even tho we were on the top floor. Water was running down the closet doors and from the ceiling. We had to be moved to another room after having to visit the front desk twice. We were offered a 25min massage for all this inconvenience but, a sincere apology would have been much better.

The rooms need renovation, several coats of paint don't help a lot. Otherwise, nice and clean resort. Hopefully, this review will help you to get some funds for upgrading your facilities.

It is in desperate need of a renovation (dated) - there are nicer properties within a close proximity for the same value of money. I have been to Esmeralda 10 times (staff are great) unfortunately I will put off going back until it has been renovated. Ambar is a better option if you do not have children otherwise pay a bit more and go to Fantasia.

Excellent entertainment, very good food variety, wonderful beach. The only negative thing was the noise the a/c was doing in our bedroom, they took 5 hours to fix it.

it was wonderful stay at resort. No problem with the stay. Rooms were good and cleaned everyday and top up everything. All the worker finish their job with smile . As per the food , it was good and clean with proper set-up. Beach was good and clean as worker try to keep it clean all the time. Pools were really good. I visit with my family first time in Punta Cana. As parents we were little bit concerned about safety and other things as it was in the news about those death in last few months. But I feel very safe at resort and outside too. Everything was arrange from Airport to resort and back to Airport. One thing I will suggest that carry extra sun cream and a night light bulb and air cleaner in your baggage as no exhaust fan in the washroom .

This hotel is beautiful and you always have something fun to do. The animation team was a lot of fun, I especially loved the beach night party. Joaquin, Manolo and Hugo at the lobby bar were exceptional. Joaquin became the best part of our experience because he is very kind and always knew just what we needed. Great people! They are what makes this hotel even better than what it already is.
