“Hotel maravilhoso! A vista é de tirar o fôlego. Altamente recomendado.”
— Joseph Li
“The physical hotel is beautiful and absolutely worthy of the praise mentioned by previous reviewers. However, there are some things that potential guests should know before they book this formerly “luxury” hotel.
The hotel is located right off of a main road. While you cannot see the road, you can hear industrial traffic and truck horns 24 hours/day.
The hotel changed management in June 2020. It is no longer the Alila by Hyatt, but now a local brand called “Aurua.” The slogan on staff T-Shirts is “I Love Party.” Service has taken a serious hit.
Despite a “no drones ” policy, there were 3 instances during our 3-day stay where other customers flew a drone across our balcony and filmed into our hotel room. Creepy, pervy, and the management replied by asking housekeeping to close our curtains and gift us some dried fruit.
Again, beautiful spot, but align your expectations accordingly.”
