Stopped here on the way from Baltimore to Fayetteville the day after Christmas. 95 was horrible, 6 hours from B'more to Richmond! I was exhausted, pulled into this Marriot to save my sanity. Check in took 5 mins and I was in a beautiful, comfortable room. Free Netflix, Showtime, internet. Top rate amenities. I was so relieved. Great job Marriot!

Left without even staying the night after my child was bitten by something—likely a bed bug from the mark left—5 minutes after climbing in bed. When I lifted the fitted sheet to check for bed bugs, I found the mattress pad had hair all over it along with dirt and crumbs. Definitely would not recommend this hotel because it certainly doesn’t meet typical Marriott standards!

Front desk lied to my minor son about having complimentary toothbrushes and told him to buy a $3 toothbrush! I don’t understand the point of this. It’s not about the money but the fact that they would do this to a child. Another employee confirmed that they had plenty! Besides that one employee, everyone else was great! To add, my son and I entered through the side door only to be charged at by a large pitbull!!! The owner had to pin the dog against the wall to stop it from attacking us! We ran up the stairwell to our floor to avoid walking past them!

If you like dogs then this is the hotel for you. The room smelled like dog when I walked in. I had to spray a ton of Lysol. When I checked in the staff person was eating lunch and when I checked out, the staff person was hiding in the back. I had to holler for her. The mobile key card does not work because they want to make sure people don't bring unauthorized dogs into the hotel. Knowing this, the check in guy failed to give me a keycard so I had to come back down. Stay on an upper floor because the floors are paper thin. Breakfast was good, although, I have never seen a Marriott with a tip jar.

It was a very nice hotel. Well kept and clean. Very inviting. The only thing I found uncomfortable, unprofessional and extremely distasteful was the breakfast staff. The lady who was in charge of refilling the food hovered over the food and watched everything you picked up. It was so uncomfortable. It was borderline harassment. This never happens at the Hilton. Marriott you need to train your staff better.
