“Lugares encantadores celebran su cumpleaños, una buena experiencia y un personal amable. Sería bueno si atendieran comida más tradicional.”
— Louise Simon
“My husband and I went in late November for our first wedding anniversary, and it was our first all inclusive experience. We travel frequently and have Titanium status with Marriott, so we were excited to try this new addition to the Marriott brand. To summarize right away, they need to be much more clear, and communicative about things at the resort, and on their website. When we arrived we were met by the staff with drinks, and whisked away on a cart to the Diamond Club lounge for the check in process. They keep a record of everyone's arrival times, and recognized our flight was delayed when we arrived. We met the staff, and were told that they utilize WhatsApp to communicate in the Diamond Club, with your personal butler. So definitely have that app downloaded because they won't wait for you, and if you aren't on the WIFI yet, the service is lacking. Let me highlight the good things; the resort staff was SO friendly. SUPER friendly at all times, and always happy to help. There were a few staff members who weren't as chipper, but I think they were just being stretched thin, because you could tell they were just worn down. Sunday is a big day of rest for the island, so plan for a quiet resort day! You will get to know them, as they do rotate throughout the property to different positions. Our butler, Raechon was great, and always available! She was happy to help, and usually responded immediately through the app! It was odd though, because 24 hours before our departure, the Diamond Club shut off our butler communication in the app and they ceased all conversation with us. The "hype" team, headed up by Antonio and Ninja were great, but be prepared to participate if you are at the pool!! They were always full of energy, and great to talk to!! Brad and Shawn were great as well at the bars and pool deck. John and Princess at the front desk were also very helpful and on top of things! We had originally paid to specifically choose, a room in the Diamond Club building 20. We got an upgrade to a larger room in building 12, which in hindsight, I wish we would have known beforehand, or been offered a refund for the extra fee we paid to choose our room. Building 20 was VERY busy, and directly over the pool, so I imagine it was very loud at all times in your room, so keep that in mind. I'm actually glad we weren't there! Building 12 was extremely quiet, and we only ever heard the room below us flushing the toilet, and their phones ringing. While the resort was beautiful, the Diamond Club amenities were not exactly as advertised. They failed to ever once restock our included in-room beverages, including coffee, beer and wine. Each time we ordered room service the entire menu was out, and nothing ever seemed to be available, and something was always missing from the order. Each order always arrived in take out containers, never on dishes, and NEVER looked anything like the photo on the screen. The website also touts "reservation-free" dining, which is a far cry from the truth. I HIGHLY recommend that the moment you arrive, you make a reservation for each place you want to try because reservations ARE 110% required unless you want to eat at 9pm, when everything is already sold out. They also closed restaurants when we had reservations, and they are very small inside. The food was mostly mediocre at best, and the "Italian" lunch was a complete joke, in all honesty. The Indian restaurant was actually very good. The French restaurant, I have mixed reviews. The buffet was good, but the service was lacking. There is nowhere to get food between 11pm and 7am, so plan accordingly. The Diamond Club pool is NOT exclusive as the website mentions. There was no regulation over who came and went, and was very, very loud at all times because of the activities and DJ. I would definitely say that our biggest let down, was the lack of communication and direction.”
