“First off: the hotel looks really put together! The interior stylist they hired did a great job. But the service is absolutely terrible! It started when we came to check-in. We booked a room with a large bed (I was sure to book a large bed because I hate two separate beds). The lady told me I asked for a room with two separate beds, I told her I did absolutely not but she kept telling me I did. In the booking conformation e-mail it says I asked for a large bed, so she was straight up lying to me. I also asked for a room with ‘a view’ if that was possible. When we got in the room there was one blinded window. When we opened the window we looked straight at a wall of another building. There was also a sign that says you shouldn’t put your belongings near the window.. A bit sketchy if you ask me. At night after we took a shower we tried to turn on the airconditioning/ventilator because the room was damp. It didn’t turn on. Then we opened the window for one second so that it could air a bit - immediately a horrible smell came in the room (later it turned out that the smell came from the kitchen of a restaurant). So opening the window was also not an option. When we walked to the desk to ask if they could turn on our airconditioning because it was too hot in our room the guy told us they don’t use airconditioning in the winter season. But we couldn’t open our window because of the smell so we wanted a solution. He told us (very rudely) there wasn’t any other room available for us and that we should just “try to open the window in one hour”.. On the website it says you get a free bottle of water at arrival, but we didn’t get it. So at last we asked him if he could at least give us a bottle of water so that we could cool off a bit - he told us NO because we booked our room through another booking website than their own website! The least he could do…. Also; the walls are paper thin. So if your room is cool to sleep in, you won’t sleep if your neighbors are having a conversation or a phone call. The staff is not friendly (especially the guy behind the desk) and even a “hello, how are you?” is too much to ask for when you enter the hotel. So just find another hotel and enjoy Barcelona! :)”
