Out in the city celebrating a birthday. The room was nice. The 5 of us fit comfortably. I took the couch and the extra blankets they brought up was just what I needed.

We will never book this hotel again. Based on the ratings I booked a room for my family last Saturday night. Although we had requested a high floor our room was on the 3rd. Too tired from traveling all day I didn't want to make an issue and just accepted it. Room smelled like stale cigarettes but looked clean overall. Myself and twin 3 year old boys were kept up all night by the people next to us. They must've been having a party with dozens of people. Music was so loud and didn't stop until 3:20am. After that they decided to talk and yell with a screaming baby until 5am. Hotel staff did nothing to stop it and refused to intercede. finally in the morning when we checked out I asked for the manager on duty only to be told to wait while the man behind the desk gave me the receipt and waved goodbye to me while he took a call. Would not recommend to anyone unless you want to have a party

My new favorite hotel in NYC! The location is perfect- the neighborhood is clean and quiet, near the subway, surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops, and a Duane Reade and a small grocery store nearby. Our room was SO clean with daily housekeeping and I was pleasantly surprised by the size- much larger than most hotel rooms in the city. The decor is old school but I found it charming. It had everything we needed! Desk, reading chair, mini fridge and microwave, iron, robes, extra linens and towels. The staff and service at San Carlos was ten stars from the front desk to the door man, everyone was just fantastic and they helped make our stay memorable. I will definitely stay here anytime I’m in the city!

Our family of 6 loved everything about the San Carlos Hotel! We had never stayed here or even noticed it when we lived in NYC years ago but the price and location caught my attention so I took a chance and booked a week and a half stay. The location was perfect for getting around Manhattan and was near the majority of our desired locations. The staff was incredible! From check in to check out we had superior service and interaction over our 10 day stay. The rooms were huge! My husband and I had a king 1 bedroom suite with an extra powder room and our kids had a double queen 1 bedroom suite. Our rooms were clean and attended to each day. The beds were comfortable and there was a large pillow selection. It was nice to have a kitchenette in our room too. Our kids loved the vending machines and sitting area on the 2nd floor and were regularly entertained by the doorman and staff as we all congregated in the lobby. Every type of restaurant you can imagine is within 5 blocks of the hotel. We used the subway, buses, car service and taxis to get around. The entire team at the hotel became family over our extended stay. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our trip and got everything accomplished that we needed to. They even had complimentary umbrellas to use on rainy days.If you are questioning weather or not to book at this location, I promise you won't be disappointed. We plan to make many more trips to NYC and call the San Carlos Hotel our home away from home.

Lovely spacious room with fridge and microwave. Great location, close to shopping and dining. Decor was a bit dated and tub needed a reglazing. The bed was incredible!

Spend 3 night here with my family of 5, every one love it and service it’s outstanding! From the maid who fixed our to the doorman’s who help us out from the checking in and out. Will be back again and again for this unforgettable service at San Carlos hotel in NY . Thank you for a really peasant service throughout for us.

This place is amazing. I booked three hotels, canceled each of them trying to find a family friendly large room. King suite is HUGE. Separate kitchen, comfy queen sized sofa bed for kids, king master is super comfortable and very spacious.Front desk, Miss Vargas is exceptional. Bobby (concierge) equally kind, attentive and lovely. Also, Quoran (front desk) is truly amazing!While this was not exactly the area I preferred, it turned out to be actually perfect. Breakfast cafe across the hotel, affordable. Parking three blocks away, equally affordable.Amazing italian cafe two blocks away, paella etc.

Todo de 10. El hotel es muy bonito, está muy cuidado y su situación es inmejorable, cerca de muchos lugares de interés y rodeado de restaurantes y cafeterías. Nuestra habitación era fantástica: una suite con un dormitorio para nosotros, un salón en el que durmieron nuestros 3 hijos, un baño completo, un aseo y una pequeña cocina. Además, el personal es amabilísimo y los botones muy serviciales. Es un hotel caro, eso sí, pero como todos los hoteles de Manhattan; la ubicación al final se paga.
