This was our fourth year at The James. Always a relaxing, comfortable getaway with friendly, helpful staff. We love the atmosphere and the location is excellent. Yes, we heard middle of the night sirens. It's a city! Looking forward to next year. We realized two weeks later we had left a jacket behind. The hotel staff confirmed our stay and had record of our missing jacket which will be shipped to us. Impressive!

Great hotel and good service. It doesn't take much to make me happy in a hotel room - good mattress, good pillow, good shower. The James delivers. Well located. We used the meeting rooms - great facilities. Great food. Would definitely stay there again.

The James Hotel in Chicago is in a great location. The hotel itself looks like it’s been newly remodeled. Our room was horrible. We had mold all over the room in different areas. I’m just thankful nobody got sick. Look at the mold growing over the table. This cannot be healthy for its residents.

Great location for his hotel. The staff were excellent when responding to a couple of small room issues. Very quick to bring extra towels and fix a wobbly tap when made aware of it. Bellhop has a wicked sense of humour too. Some of the common areas upstairs and the room itself could benefit from an upside though.

Great hotel but the front desk staff was less than friendly or helpful. As I was standing in line to check out there was a language barrier with the customer ahead of me, the front desk girl kept saying, we’re done here, you can go, over and over. The lady obviously needed something else but just dismissed her completed. She then spoke around her and asked me for my keys and said I can go, did not tell me that they were charging my credit card for some sort of “resort fee” that I apparently should have known about and isn’t their responsibility to tell me about, at least that’s what I was just told over the phone when I called to inquire. I also never received a receipt for it in person or via email. The hotel was nice, the location was amazing but the staff was anything but.

Staff was so accommodating and so friendly. Window views are amazing! Beds are dangerously comfy! The hotel lobby and bar is neat, such a good atmosphere. I think the rooms are so cute and modern! Mini fridge has the good drinks too :) I love how dark the hallways are and how dark you can make your room. Late checkout is a plus!

Very friendly staff at check in, room was impeccable. Super comfortable bed. Random highlight: super soft bath robes. The only downside was a good bit of noise overnight, which I think is expected in any large city. Otherwise, wonderful stay...would stay again.

Nice hotel with a nice fitness center in the basement. Lobby was under construction while I was there, so it should be really nice in a few months. The rooms are overall nice and stylishly furnished. Those who appreciate that will probably like it. For my business travel need it wasn't as nice as a business hotel. The sink is cool looking, but at 1" deep not very functional. Also, there are no chairs in the room, just a booth-style seat with a table next to it. Not great for working on a laptop. Still, a nice enough hotel to warrant 3.5-4 stars for me.

The room was well stocked and the toiletries smell fantastic! The bedding is good. The hotel rooms are very well decorated. The first floor wasn't open making getting to the restaurant impossible without going outside. The hotel is also not accessible except by stairs while under construction. Also the AC was not working well and it became extremely hot during the night. That occurred to two others that were staying in different room as well.

I've stayed several times now, and this hotel provides some of the best service I have ever had. Every person is so helpful and nice, and will do anything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The food is great, and the rooms are comfortable and nice. Also had conferences here and it is the perfect place to host. Great place to stay, if not just for how great the staff is! Erin was amazing to work with and provided the best experiences possible.
