Catalonia El Retiro
The NH Madrid Sur, formerly known as NH Pacífico, hotel is in the quiet Aldefas area in Madrid’s Retiro district. A 20-minute walk takes you to the beautiful Retiro Park, and from there you’re within easy reach of the city’s famous Art Triangle – the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums. There are 62 rooms spread over 4 floors. There are Standard and Superior rooms, and they all come with satellite TV, safe deposit box, mini-bar, and air conditioning. They’re modern, spacious and bright, with hardwood floors. We have a modern breakfast room with comfortable, cushioned seats so you’ll feel relaxed while you’re tucking into your buffet breakfast. If you need to have a business meeting, you can settle into a sofa in the lobby.

“Very accomodating and helpful staff. We arrived rather early and they held our baggage until the room was ready. The rooms themselves are quite spacious.Bathroom is big too with a full tub.Love the speaker in the bathroom! Would be nicer with breakfast included; but there are plenty of options nearby! Metro is a quick 5 minute walk.”

“The hotel is right off the metro and within walking distance to some shops and food, but nothing unique or historically relevant, so I can't say it's a good location. The beds are rock hard and the majority of my friends really struggled to sleep and didn't feel well because of it. Also, the hotel lacked most basic amenities and the staff was unhelpful in coming up with solutions. I spent my last 2 nights in a hostel in a better part of town and wished I'd moved sooner, it was 1000 times better.”
