“It's a slap in the face to take a king suite for the night and then be asked to pay for internet. Yes I could give them my email to join some program to get it free but... Guys. It's 2022. Give me a break. The lowest hotel I can imagine gives free wifi. This just feels like some stone age corporate policy still playing tapes from 1995. I don't care how opulent the room is: charge for a basic service and get ridiculed in the reviews.
On another note, the shower in the opulent room requires you to either stand in a cold shower while the water warms up, or squeeze between the toilet and the shower door to turn the shower on without getting soaked with cold water. What sort of tube designed this?
The lady at the front desk cheerfully informed me that the registration desk I had arrived at was for the gift shop only, before scampering away. So I moved to the next identical, undifferentiated, empty desk to the left and waited.
