Great location, friendly staff. Rooms are a bit dated with worn mattresses and older bathroom fixtures. Beware though, THE TRAINS ARE LOUD! Starting at 4am and running until 1am or so, you will be reminded of the Joe Pesci scene from "My Cousin Vinny". 😁 Elevators seemed to have issues and are shared with hotel staff. There were some significant wait times to get on. Breakfast was solid and available much later than other locations. There was always a protein available, which has not been the norm for Hampton lately. Overall, the room seemed pricey, since they tack on a merciless parking fee on top of CA taxes. I would stay here again because it is so convenient for Little Italy, but I will definitely bring earplugs!

Such an “old” hotel. Worst breakfast ever. All served in plastic and paper stuff. Cleaning of the room happens only if you ask them. Bed is comfortable, the location is next to little Italy which offers plenty of options for dinner. Lots of homeless people around, but it’s still safe. The staff of the hotel itself doesn’t say even hi when you get in and out. No one cares about the guests. Overall ok for 1-2 nights, to visit SD, but don’t expect much if you have high standards.

This hotel is perfectly situated downtown. You can walk to everything including the port. We enjoyed covered, secure parking and a delicious continental breakfast. We walked to little Italy for dessert and sea port village for dinner. We always felt safe. We have already booked our next stay in November before our cruise.

Stayed one night. Location was ok. San Diego has quite a bit of homeless people. Wish we could help them all. Hotel was clean. Our room was pretty good but details in the bathroom could be improved. Overall though a nice place to stay.

i rarely write reviews but this hotel impressed me. It would be easy to overlook it because the lobby is not much but the rooms are very nice, clean, specious and modern. The location is excellent close to Little Italy and the Seaport. The breakfast was nice and had a good variety. It was a great value and I would stay there again.
