Won't return. We just joined Hilton Honours prior to this visit, and are seriously questioning that choice. Hopefully our issues are unique to this (weirdly combined Hampton/Homewood) hotel. We were lied to 3 times about the cost of valet parking. While the room was fine, it was advertised as "lakeview" - yes, we saw a sliver of it, but nothing like the pictures online. Our reservation was for 3 people, but it was set up for 2 & we had to call numerous times to get linens, pillows, coffee etc for our daughter. Elevators took FOREVER in the morning. The toilet screamed (yes, screamed) every time we flushed it. Front desk staff was friendly & accomodating, but valet was not, actually thought I was lying to him about what I had been told 3x about the price of valet parking. Challenged me on where I'd heard it (twice over the phone, and the twice was because I didn't believe the price the first time, it seemed too good to be true. So I called back & confirmed.) and then when I was able to give him the name of the man who had checked us in (Hector) & had, for a third time, confirmed the price I'd been told over the phone, he took us inside & very specifically asked him the price in a way that gave the answer he wanted Hector to say - so he could look at us like we'd lied to him. Not cool at all. The pool was a tiny little cement block on the roof. Location was nice, but when you're paying a premium price for Hilton's amenities, the hotel should be better than this.

I WAS loyal to Hilton. I will be moving on to Marriott. The hotel failed to provide a clean room. The shower curtain smelled like feet. All of the dishes were in dishwasher with condensation and a smell. The air conditioning is loud and ineffective. We had to change rooms due to bedroom AC breaking. The desk staff were nice but the hotel is not clean. The revolving exit/entry door was never cleaned the 5 days I was there. The hallways and elevator were filthy. The location is great but this hotel does not meet what I would consider high priced Hilton standards. I would NOT recommend

Because Homewood Suites was the first brand I every booked for a hotel, I played it safe and did the same. The location is perfect, because everything we wanted to try and visit was within a mile from the hotel. Our room was on the 29th floor out of 36? The elevators are split, so you'll have to use one side if you want to go to floors 1 - 13? and the rest for the other floors. The pool's the deepest I have ever seen, it goes from 5-7 feet deep! I was quite excited, but wish there was a shower room or a hose for guests to wash themselves before jumping in. Also, the towels barely wrapped around me. There's no bars or restaurants in the hotel as well. The most exciting part of the hotel was the fact that I could unlock the door using my phone!! It's the first time for me and I took every opportunity to use it, even though connection was spotty most of the time.

The good: - The view from the room was great (corner room #2504) and it had separate living room and bedroom. - Breakfast was included and standard but ended a bit early if you are a tourist (10AM). - Location is good, right on Michigan avenue and 15 min walking distance to the river. I highly recommend the transportation pass (we got 7 day pass at the metro station). We used it a lot for bus and train rides around the city. Very convenient. The bad: - Service was bad - nothing happened on first request, you call for extra towels the receptionist says that it will be there in 15min, but nothing happens, you have to call at least 3 more times to get something (every time) or go get it yourself. - You have to schedule room cleaning 48 hours in advance and even then they don’t do it and you have to argue about it and follow through until it is done. - 3 elevators are not enough for breakfast rush time. - Lobby is very small and unimpressive for such a big hotel. - Design in general is bland and outdated. Shower faucet flew off the first time we wanted to shower, had to wait for plumber.

There is a lot to like about this hotel. The location is excellent. The rooms were nice. Breakfast was appreciated. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We had a room on the 35th floor with an outstanding view. But man, we have to talk about the elevators. It really is frustrating to be excited to get out and go enjoy your day in Chicago and wait 20-40 minutes to get an elevator. One elevator was down during our visit which likely exacerbated the problem, and other than that I really liked it here, but it was bad.

Location The room was not that clean it smelled like mile dew thank god the bed room window was able to open I didn't expect that at alll considering homewood is apart of the Hilton brand

The room was more spacious than I would've thought for a downtown hotel The room decor felt outdated, the carpet was stained and they were stingy with toilet paper

Location I was totally upset with my stay at your Downtown Chicago locations from 8-7-20 till 8-10-20. Not one time while booking was I informed that there would be no pool. ( I have 5 yr.old btw and that was part of the reason for my stay.) Cont. Unfortunately we had to purchase out own breakfast. The room definitely was not sealed as they advertise for sanitation and COVID 19! Lmbo The room was for non smoking and it smelled like a complete smoke shack. The website is inaccurate....

The location is great and the staff. I love the housekeeping department they do an excellent job with cleaning the room. Definitely going back!

Nice large suite, that was a treat. The only complaint is concerning the cleaning of the room. There was no door hanger telling them when to clean, and the staff waited until mid afternoon to clean it, when we were already back in the room. There was plenty of time to do it earlier.

The location was great with easy access to buses and subway. Breakfast included everyday, which could get crowded. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was large and comfortable, except for the sofa bed. Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. But front desk immediately set up 4-5 soft blankets to help pad the mattress which made more bearable. They also let us check out other rooms for mire comfortable mattress.

The location It was super dirty, the pool was disgusting and there was a pile of garbage and laundry outside of my room for most of our stay

The hotel was wonderful. The entire staff was incredible. The breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect! We look forward to staying there again.

Suite was well laid out, location was excellent. Lobby was not well marked.

Room was spacious and the location is good Common spaces aren't great. Elevators and hallways need updating.

The Staff Was So Nice!!!! And The Breakfast Was Great. Location To everything was great!!! I even left clothes and they offered to ship Or save. ( I live not far so thats why they offered to save till i came up) Pool needs a little TLC, But Was Nice

We thought it was a nice, clean hotel at a good location. The location was convenient to Michigan Ave. It was quiet. We really liked having a door that could close between the living room and the bedroom as well as an additional door to the bathroom shower/toilet area. This is actually why we chose this location as our adult daughter slept on the sofa in the living room. The living room and bedroom themselves were rather small. This was OK for us as we did not spend much time in the room other than to sleep. It might be a problem for others.
